Revelations Part II

Did you know that John, who wrote the book of Revelations, was the last disciple to live? All other disciples had faced gruesome deaths because of their faith.  John had been exiled because the authorities had tried to kill him by torture, but they were unsuccessful in killing him!

Did you know that John called himself Jesus' "Beloved Disciple"?  But no where in the Bible does Jesus actually call him this! :)

In Rev. 1:12-16, Jesus' voice is described. Look at these awesome parallels!

Like a trumpet (Exodus 19:16 -- God's voice described as a trumpet on Mt. Siani)  used to draw us to him
Like the sound of rushing water -- sound of Power
Out of his mouth came a double edged sword (The Word of God!!)

The 7 lampstands are referenced constantly throughout Revelations.  Did you know that this represents the menorah? However, instead of the traditional Jewish menorah (7 lampstands) -- there are 7 lampstands to represent the 7 churches discussed in Revelations, but Chris is the center lamp (total: 8 lampstands!)

Cool stuff! Can't wait to learn more!
