Friday: I took an hour and half nap...ahh! When Chris woke me up, we considered going to the Hillgrove vs. Marietta High football game. Glad we didn't because they lost! :( So we decided to have a night at home and watch a movie (Behind Enemy Lines -- very good movie with Owen Wilson). Owen Wilson's nose gets on my nerves, but overall he did an excellent job with this "serious film". Then we hit the sack early to catch up on some much needed sleep!
Saturday: We woke up and went to look for a new car! We visited the Honda dealership in Cartersville and found an excellent deal on a 2009 Honda Accord. However, we aren't quite ready to buy. It was still nice to look though. After our trip to look at cars, we went EVERYWHERE looking for a tall, iron, garden flag pole so we could hang our Bama flag. Unfortunately, we only found a mini one at Michael's.
After we ran errands, we relaxed watching football! I was supposed to grade papers...but I procrastinated. At some point, I fell asleep again (most of my weekend consisted of sleep!). After I woke up from my nap, we met up with some friends (Kenneth and Angela) from college to watch the Bama game at Buffalo Wild Wings! Great wings and tons of fun! I love their potato wedges! We were simultaneously watching the Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, and TCU games. It was hard to concentrate on just one game! Bama won! That made the night complete. We left the restaurant and went home to finish watching the LSU/UNC game. I really wanted UNC to win! I love the underdogs...but unfortunately, they didn't win and I fell asleep before the end of the game! :( Below is a picture of the baby tummy's first Bama game!

Sunday: After an awesome sermon at North Metro courtesy of Craig Bowler, we went to White Water! We enjoyed a relaxing, but cold, day at the park. We floated along the lazy river, got into the wave pool, ate Papa John's, and checked out the kid's rides (for future trips!). I even saw one of my students at the park, and she gave us a discount on our food! The water was freezing! But we had a great time! My favorite was the lazy river -- lying on a float, going round and round, closing my eyes or looking up at the sky. Whoo hoo! It was a blast!

Sunday evening we were invited over to a friend's house for a cook out. We saw their beautiful home for the first time and enjoyed a scrumptious dinner out on their patio. The weather was beautiful for an outdoor cookout and dinner. If it had been a little bit cooler, we might have gotten in their hot tub!
Monday: I was super lazy on Monday. Again, I didn't grade any papers...that's going to be a problem later! Chris went out and worked in the yard for a little while; I enjoyed time on the couch reading my celebrity magazines. Afterwards, we ate breakfast and watched Something the Lord Made. An excellent, heartwarming movie about the first heart surgery. Which by the way, did you know that the surgery was done by a black man in the 1950's named Vivian? He didn't even have a medical degree! He was a cardiac surgeon's janitor... who turned into a lab assistant...who then implemented the first bypass to save babies born with heart problems.
After we watched the movie, we decided to get out of the house. We went to Woodstock Furniture to look for ideas for the house. Afterward, we were going to go to Acworth beach but the cold temperatures from Sunday soon turned into 90 degree weather on Monday afternoon, proving too hot for Chris and I to get out and enjoy a nice walk. Finally, we went to pick up Chris' favorite: Ziegler's BBQ! We enjoyed a nice dinner and a double feature: Bonds of Silence (a Lifetime movie involving a man who was beaten to death by teenagers at a party and then his wife sought for the killer -- based on a true story) and I Could Never Be Your Woman (a hilarious romantic comedy staring one of my favorites -- Paul Rudd!).
What a way to end the weekend! |

We live so close to White Water, but have never gone. The lazy river sounds amazing, I might just have to drag Kyle there!
